How to get the most out of AI prompts (part 2)
16th September 2025
We’ve got more advice to help you improve efficiency when you use AI.
In part 2 of our article (part 1 is available here), we go over more methods of making your AI prompting better. Reduce the amount of time you spend repeating yourself when using AI, ask the right questions and get the answers you want faster:
Use examples and references: it may be that another person or company is already producing things in a way that you would like to emulate – simply ask the AI to use that style as inspiration. If the prompt was “make our product booklet sound similar to Apple’s,” the AI would emulate the style and tone to use for your work.
Ask for alternatives: if you’re not 100% sure of what you want, ask the AI to give you multiple variations. From there, you can narrow down which one you prefer, and working with the AI you can workshop the best result.
Iterate and refine: while you may get lucky and get the perfect response on the first try, it is more likely that you will need to make changes (even if you follow this guide!). Ask the AI to tweak the response to improve your results. For example, you could say “make this more formal,” or “add more information about AI biases,” anything like that.
Use role-based prompts: if you ask an AI to behave like a certain type of person, it will replicate that style and tone. For example, if you say, “I want you to write a Shakespearean sonnet as if I was the actor Danny Dyer,” the AI would know exactly how to create that response.
So, there you have it, over our two articles you have all the advice you need to get better responses from your AI assistant. Remember, a tool is only as productive as the person using it: if you follow this guide, you’ll get so much more out of AI.
