How should you implement AI in your business?
11th July 2025
Acas recently released a survey that found 35% of employers believed AI increased productivity*: how can you get the most out of it?
Over the last few years, AI has gone from a fun gimmick to an essential part of many of our working lives. A recent Acas (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) survey found that 12% of employers thought it gave them an edge over competitors, while 11% believed it improved knowledge. The survey also offered some top tips for employers around using AI at work:
Consult staff – this is a vital one! While many employees will embrace the potential AI can provide, for others it can be intimidating, not just in terms of using it, but because it could pose a threat to job security. Reassure staff that AI is a tool to help, not replace, and offer training in other areas if AI makes a role redundant.
Create clear policies – staff need to know when it is right to use AI and when they need to do jobs themselves. The last thing you need is for something important to be missed because AI didn’t pick it up: allocate accordingly!
Train employees – a great tool is useless if you don’t know how to use it. Ensure your staff have plenty of opportunities to learn about the AI tool they are using before it becomes an essential part of their work. This will result in the AI being used responsibly and effectively.
Check AI outputs – AI is fantastic, but it makes mistakes. Before using it everywhere, make certain that it is accurate and not bias. Additionally, depending on what you are using it may not be able to match the tone of your business: remember to adjust so that it still sounds like you.
Protect data privacy – this is good advice for anyone! Don’t put sensitive information (either yours or data belonging to a client) into public AI tools, it poses a security risk.
Align AI use with GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation refers to the UK guidelines on personal data collection: ensure you AI follows it as strictly as your staff should.
Overall, implementing AI into the workplace is simple and beneficial, provided that you access the risks involved and train staff to know how to use it. If you need help bringing AI into your business, contact Interfuture Systems for advice.
